KU Leuven STUDIUM.AI @Lectio team is currently looking for a new team member with postdoctoral status in the field of early modern studies (broadly defined), with ample experience in the field of Digital Humanities and Social Network Analysis. STUDIUM.AI proposes to build a sustainable research infrastructure (RI) that allows to examine the ‘web of knowledge’ around the Old University of Leuven from a data- and AI-driven perspective. It is embedded within the KU Leuven Institute LECTIO for the Study of the Transmission of Texts, Ideas and Images in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The postdoc will work at the Faculty of Arts of KU Leuven.
The postdoc will facilitate linking data imported from datasets of the eight participating research teams and the four participating heritage institutions. In addition, the postdoc will identify datasets that can expand the database, either through cooperation with existing projects or by identifying corpora that can be mined for relevant information and set up the procedures of data cleaning. At the same time, the postdoc will coordinate data entry by the KU Leuven researchers as well as a series of student assistant, and document the process of data entry. Together with the AI- and DH-experts, the postdoc will finetune the tools for network analysis, as well as offer training to senior and junior members of the consortium to optimize the performance of the research infrastructure.

A salary according to barema 44 (postdoc).
It is a 50% position, for 18 months (flexible in tailoring this schedule)
